The Job: Software Developer, Back-end
In that role, you’ll have a critical impact on the development of our web applications and services. A thorough, in-depth knowledge of developing device drivers, libraries, and applications for embedded Linux on various chipset platforms.

Experienced in architectural design, drafting requirements, resource allocation, project planning and scheduling and managing sub-contractors.

Reporting directly to the Technical Support Director, the chosen candidate will provide product and installation support to customers and make use of company tools to assist in the upkeep and development of various products and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to installers and our corporate partners via telephone, e-mail, social media and our online forums
- Document all customer interactions using the company’s helpdesk ticket system

Responsibilities

- Extract wiring diagrams and information from vehicle shop manuals
- Photo-document vehicle wire information (color, wire location, etc) and enter information into the company wiring database
- Assist the technical writing team in creation and upkeep of installation guides
- Participate in product planning meetings
- Answer technical support calls and emails from our clients, partners, and staff
- Document all customer interactions using the company’s helpdesk ticket system

Automotive Data Solutions Inc. (www.adsdata.ca) is a fast-growing private company specializing in the development and marketing of OEM integration solutions for the automotive 12-volt aftermarket industry. We currently have the need for two Junior Development Engineers to participate in the bottom-up development of new products.
One vacant position focuses heavily on hardware development while the other focuses on software development. In both cases, the Development Engineer will assist in the entire development process of our products and will handle the application’s design as well as ensure its correct operation before release. As such, the applicants have the opportunity to involve themselves in all aspects of ADS’ new products development.
The applicants’ technical skills include:
- An undergraduate degree in computer or electrical engineering, with a focus on software design for embedded systems. A Master’s degree is a plus;
- Proficiency in C programming language with embedded systems as the target devices. Knowledge of C++ / C# a plus;
- Experience in developing products using embedded systems and working knowledge of microcontrollers. Experience with 32-bit architecture is preferred;
- A sound understanding of printed circuit boards and an ability to efficiently design them;
- VHDL or Verilog design experience a big plus;
- Knowledge of Altium or Orcad preferred;
- Design experience with audio signals (DSP, signal processing, analog audio);
- An interest in the automotive industry is a plus.
